Walks around the Basecamp Cafe

Situated on the outskirts of Sheffield close to the Rivelin and Loxley valleys and at the gateway to the Peak District, the Basecamp Cafe at Towsure is the ideal start or end point for an exhilarating walk, for some well deserved refuelling and refreshment.  We've picked a few of our local walks to suit all abilities in this picturesque area of South Yorkshire and Derbyshire

Rivelin Valley Loop

A 7 mile walk from the Malin Bridge park & ride taking in the historic Rivelin valley, following the course of the river and the history of Sheffield's water-powered industrial past

Loxley Valley & Wadsley Common

A 6.5 mile walk from the Malin Bridge park & ride with stunning vistas over the Loxley Valley from either side and exploring ancient woodland before climbing to viewpoints at Wadsley Common

Rivelin Rough & Wyming Brook

Choice of a 6 mile or 5.3 mile route (the former with a harder climb on more challenging terrain) starting a 10 minute drive from the Basecamp Cafe, taking in the woods of Rivelin Rough before climbing through Fox Holes plantation to the top of Wyming Brook and along the top of the valley before returning through Blackbrook woods
